Janet Smith is a Massachusetts based photographer who enjoys photographing things that do not run away and occasionally things that do. Her work includes traditional nature and landscape images, unique still life images, abstract photographs of paint on old boats, and photographs of friendly critters. Her subjects vary, but she hopes her images show the viewer something familiar in a new way, give them pause, or make them smile.

Her photographs have won awards in regional and national shows and have been included in juried shows at the Cambridge Art Association, Concord Art Association, Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester MA, the Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester MA, the Arlington Center for the Arts, and PhotoPlace gallery online. Her photographs are included in the permanent collection at Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA and in private collections in the United States and abroad.
